Sleeping Soundly
Natural Sleep Remedies
A good night’s sleep is incredibly important to health. Even though getting enough rest is as important as eating healthy and exercising, people are now sleeping less than they did in the past. Not only do we need a certain amount of sleep, the quality of sleep matters as well.
Did you know that poor sleep is linked to adverse health outcomes like weight gain, impaired brain function, and a higher risk of many and often serious health issues? Furthermore, poor sleeping patterns are strongly linked to depression, particularly for those with a sleeping disorder.
During our time together at my next webinar, Sleeping Soundly, on Tuesday, August 10th at 6:30 pm MDT, we will discuss some common sleep disorders as well as which essential oils have been shown to aid sleep quality and quantity.
What Can Essential Oils Do For Sleep?
Essential oils are a highly concentrated version of the natural oils in plants, and each essential oil has the characteristic fragrance and properties of the plant from which it was extracted. This includes the plant’s healing properties and other plant characteristics!
Many cultures throughout history have looked to essential oils for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. The function of oils within plants is to protect against predators and disease. Once extracted, the oils carry the same benefits to us. The most common therapeutic application of essential oils is that of aromatherapy.
Modern life tends to get in the way of proper sleep. As a result, sleep disorders are all too common. From insomnia to restless leg syndrome, essential oils can help! In fact, many essential oils that have been studied have been found to have positive results as an effective sleep aid!
